About MP3 to MIDI

What it is built for

The converter is designed for musicians, songwriters, students, and curious listeners who want an editable starting point from recorded audio. It works especially well with clear solo instruments, voice, humming, piano, guitar, and bass.

Automatic transcription is not perfect. Dense songs, drums, effects, distortion, and overlapping instruments can create extra or missing notes. The result is intended to be reviewed and refined in a DAW or MIDI editor.

Private browser-based processing

Your MP3 is decoded and analyzed inside your browser. It is not uploaded to our server during conversion. Your browser downloads the application, the transcription model, and ordinary site assets needed to run the tool.

Open-source transcription model

Note detection uses Spotify's Basic Pitch TypeScript model, released under the Apache License 2.0. Basic Pitch supports polyphonic, instrument-agnostic note detection and works best on one instrument at a time.
